Maysa leads on the development, delivery, and evaluation of the Science Leadership Program to ensure our Fellows obtain the skills, inspiration, and networks necessary to succeed as interdisciplinary science leaders.
Maysa’s career to date has been defined by a commitment to developing leaders, teams, and cultures. She cares deeply about nurturing talent and enabling leaders and communities to make a lasting impact on society.
Maysa joined Schmidt Science Fellows after more than 10 years in the international development sector, most recently as Head of Operations for Oxfam’s Programme Funding Department, a team responsible for securing more than £200m of funds annually for the organization. Prior to that, Maysa was the Programme Manager for the Statistics, Evidence & Accountability Programme at the consulting firm, Oxford Policy Management. There she oversaw teams managing projects worldwide and was responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of the Programme’s objectives in line with corporate strategy and financial targets. In her early career, Maysa worked across countries in Africa and the Middle East supporting teams responding to chronic and rapid onset humanitarian emergencies.
She holds an Executive MBA from Cranfield University and a MSc in Development Studies from the London School of Economics.
