Our organs work together by sharing molecules that coordinate their functions. However, researchers lack tools to easily observe these inter-organ conversations, limiting our understanding of such exchanges in healthy and disease states.

As a Schmidt Science Fellow, Christopher will develop a new tool to study the metabolic exchange between organs and use this to identify new avenues of therapeutic intervention in age-related muscle wasting.

Christopher aims to make inter-organ exchanges visible to researchers with the hope of improving treatments and patient outcomes.

Christopher will pivot from Microbiology to Chemical Biology
