Interfaces between different materials can be engineered at nanometer and sub-nanometer scales to control how electrons move, how their spin behaves, and heat flow within electronic devices. This enables new approaches beyond conventional semiconductor technology.

As a Schmidt Science Fellow, Sathvik aims to investigate how these nanoscale interfaces can be harnessed to develop next-generation electronic device platforms.

Sathvik’s research will explore how these mechanisms could enable new device architectures that move beyond rigid silicon electronics. If successful, this could open pathways to flexible electronic systems with potential applications in wearable and implantable devices that strengthen human–machine interfaces and inform future bioelectronic technologies.

Sathvik will pivot from Materials Science to Electrical Engineering and Bioengineering
