During her PhD, Suong developed innovative light-driven, catalytic technologies for various applications, ranging from small molecule synthesis, biomass conversion, and plastic recycling to functionalization of quantum sensing materials.
As a Schmidt Science Fellow, Suong pivoted from Organic Chemistry to Nanomaterials. Working with Professor Jeremiah A. Johnson at MIT, Suong will develop new synthetic strategies to control the structure and properties of nanoparticles to address current challenges in applying these materials in diagnostics and therapeutics.
Suong is passionate about creating new technologies and materials to help promote advances in renewable energy, sustainability, and biomedicine.
