When the body’s immune system becomes unbalanced, it can lead to health issues from autoimmune disorders to age-related diseases. Restoring this balance, especially in ways that account for male and female differences, remains a major challenge in medicine.
As a Schmidt Science Fellow, Zehao aims to understand how the immune system regulates itself and what causes it to fail.
Zehao’s goal is to engineer ways to restore immune balance by reprogramming the cellular circuits that control immune responses, helping to create targeted therapeutics to rebalance the immune system in ways tailored to males and females.
Zehao will pivot from Computational Genomics to Immunology
