Dr. Yang Guo has been recognized by the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences for his PhD work in environmental science and engineering at Tsinghua University. Industrial parks play a critical role in the social-economic systems of China, and act as a trouble shooter in addressing regional environmental and global pressures. Yang’s PhD thesis titled Greenhouse Gas Mitigation in China’s Industrial Parks: From the Perspective of Energy Infrastructure focused on the decarbonization of energy infrastructure for China’s many industrial parks.

Yang is one of eleven winners to receive this recognition at a ceremony held in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, China, earlier this month.

This acknowledgement of his work adds to Yang’s motivation in further exploring sustainable infrastructure systems during his Fellowship year. “I am greatly motivated to continuously further the study of sustainable infrastructure systems in industrial parks and beyond, by simultaneously incorporating advanced methodologies and impactful applications in policy making and practices.”
