Schmidt Science Fellows Executive Director, Dr. Megan Wheeler, and the Executive Secretary of the Truman Foundation, Dr. Terry Babcock-Lumish, have explored the importance of interdisciplinarity and engagement between science and society during and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic in an opinion article for the San Francisco Chronicle.

The article highlights how barriers between disciplines and between science and policy making have come down. Dr. Wheeler and Dr. Babcock-Lumish call on funders, governments, universities, and scientists to commit to further change to tackle the global challenges within and after the pandemic.
