Mentorship

Our Fellows benefit from a personalized mentoring program that provides coaching and support from our internationally-accomplished Academic Council.

Mentoring

A dedicated mentor who sits outside of the Fellow’s professional sphere provides a supportive environment to work through challenges, explore decision-making, and test ideas. This is distinct and separate from the scientific and managerial support they can expect from their lab group leader or Principal Investigator.

Mentoring is delivered by our Academic Council members, each of whom is a highly experienced scientist with an extensive track record in institutional leadership, management, and team development.

Each Schmidt Science Fellow has an assigned mentor they meet with regularly during their Placement. As Senior Fellows, they continue to have access to mentoring.

This additional layer of support is crucial, enabling Fellows to fully realize their potential and successfully navigate the complexities of making an interdisciplinary pivot.
