Lifelong Community
Our Fellowship is a lifelong community. This distinguishes us from other funding schemes and helps us achieve more collectively than we could as individuals.
By collaborating, sharing experiences, and interacting with new concepts, our Fellows forge bonds with each other and foster genuine friendships.
At the completion of their first year of Fellowship Research Placement and the Science Leadership Program, our Fellows become Senior Fellows. They join Fellows from previous cohorts with access to support and continuing programming, such as our Catalyst Grant Scheme and a program of events to maintain connection. This community provides our Fellows with the resilience, support, and constructive challenge to succeed.
The reach of our community extends well beyond the Fellows, it is integral to our mission of transforming scientific practice. It encompasses a global network of institutions and individuals linked to Schmidt Science Fellows and includes advocates for interdisciplinary science worldwide.
Our goal is to establish a community that serves as a bedrock for transformative change. In support of this, we are expanding the Schmidt Science Fellows Interdisciplinary Science Summit to offer more opportunities, programmed sessions, and engagement events that cater to our Senior Fellows and a broader community of supporters, scientists, and leaders united by a commitment to interdisciplinary science.
