Coco is a cognitive neuroscientist focused on finding ways to detect dementia diseases earlier. During her PhD, she developed and validated a way to improve early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease by assessing human wayfinding abilities using virtual reality technologies.

As a Schmidt Science Fellow, Coco will pivot from Neuroscience to Systems Engineering to translate new digital health technologies into tangible clinical applications. Her learnings from systems approaches will enable more robust, efficient, and inclusive implementation of future dementia product-service systems for clinicians and patients.

By building open-source design methodologies and translating new innovations from neuroscience, Coco is working toward a future where earlier disease detection and dementia prevention are a reality.
