As a 2025 Schmidt Science Fellow, Marvin plans to accelerate developments in sustainable chemical manufacturing and create more socially equitable access to healthcare.

Marvin aims to replace fossil-based chemicals with renewable resources, using engineered enzymes to synthesize essential pharmaceuticals more efficiently and sustainably, improving access to drug treatments.

This highly innovative biocatalytic protocol, offering a greener alternative to existing methods, will advance enzyme engineering, support green chemistry, and facilitate the transition to sustainable chemical manufacturing. It will reduce environmental impact and foster innovation in academia and industry.

Marvin will pivot from Organic Chemistry to Biological Engineering
